(Cleveland) -- Ward 2 councilman Zack Reed goes on trial today for what could be his third DUI conviction, if he is found guilty.
Reed was arrested by Cleveland Police in March. He was pulled over for erratic driving near East 9th and Rockwell. Reed failed a field sobriety test and refused a breath test.
Reed's trial is before a jury in Cleveland Municipal Court.
If convicted, Reed could be sentenced to between 10 days and six months in jail. He would also be fined, be put on electronic monitoring after his release, and he could have his drivers license suspended for up to five years.
Reed has said he will not resign. In question is what would happen to Reed's status on city council if he were to serve jail time and cannot attend meetings.
