VIDEO: Have you seen Willie Stanberry?

(Cleveland) - The relatives of a missing East Cleveland man are asking the public help in determining what happened to their loved one.

Willie Standberry Sr. vanished on December 7, 2006 while on his way to visit his girlfriend. The 73 year old East Cleveland resident was last seen at a Sunoco gas station on East 123rd Street in Cleveland around 7:15pm.

Stanberry called his girlfriend Betty to say he was on his way, but vanished along with his car. He was never heard from or seen again and his green 2001 Ford Focus was never recovered.

Family spokeswoman Tara Eagle explains the great-grandfather and military veteran was not the type to run away, he was very friendly and always kept in touch with relatives.

Eagle says the family immediately filed a missing person report, but police never investigated. She reports the family has sent letters with cries of help to their Ohio representatives, the Ohio Attorney General and an Ohio Senator without any results.

Private investigator Pete Demopoulos probed the case for several years but never found any clues.

Eagle tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, that during the last 7 years that Stanberry has been missing, key witnesses have passed away, including a woman who saw Stanberry at the Sunoco, and his girlfriend Betty.

Stanberry would be 80 years old if he is still alive. Eagle urges anyone with information to contact East Cleveland Police.
