The agony of defeat in Brooklyn Heights

(Brooklyn Heights) - The U.S. Women's Hockey Team is feeling disappointment after losing the gold medal match to Canada. Team USA blew a 2-0 lead in the third period and lost 3-2 in overtime, settling for the silver medal.

There were plenty cheers at the Brooklyn Heights Community Center, when the USA Women were ahead 2-zip with just seconds to go.

However, the mood of the fans at the viewing party quickly turned to disappointment, as Canada came from behind to win in overtime 3-to-2.

Never the less, Brooklyn Heights residents are very proud of native Kelli Stack and her teammates.

Marie-Philip Poulin tied the game at two for Canada with 55 seconds left in regulation, then won it with a power-play goal at 8:10 of the extra session.

It's the fourth straight gold medal for Canada, which hasn't lost in Olympic play since falling to the U.S. in the gold medal game in 1998 in Nagano, Japan.

Fans at Brooklyn Heights viewing party are stunned by loss.
