(Cleveland) - Dozens of teachers in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District will not have jobs next year. District CEO Eric Gordon says the educators were told this week they would be fired after receiving poor performance reviews.
Gordon says the teachers being let go for poor performance are a fraction of the educators who are doing good work.
Cleveland Teachers Union leaders say, however, they were stunned by the number of non-tenured teachers being let go, and are encouraging them to appeal.
