Is PPG planning to leave Strongsville?

(Strongsville) - There is word that PPG has offered its' employees of its' Strongsville facilities relocation packages to the Pittsburgh-area with designs on closing the Strongsville operations in late 2014 or early 2015.

PPG corporate spokesman Brian Iams tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 the company 'does not comment on market rumors or speculation', although he does say 'PPG continues to look at its' facilities and where best to have its' employees'.

Strongsville Mayor Tom Perciak says he meet with PPG leaders this morning, and that they gave no indication they may be looking to abandon the city.

Perciak tells WTAM, he believes PPG will maintain a strong identity in Strongsville, but he would not be surprised if some employees were offered relocation packages during the course of business.
