Horseshoe Casino revenues climbed in September

(Columbus) - Good news for the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland.

Horseshoe Cleveland saw an increase in revenue from $18.9 million in August to to $19.3 million in September, according to number released Monday by the Ohio Casino Control Commission. 

Overall, however, revenue at Ohio's four casinos dropped by about a million dollars from August to September.

The casinos generated $70.8 million in revenue in August, but only $68.9 million last month.

Hollywood Casino's two Ohio locations lost money while the two Horseshoe Casinos saw revenues increase slightly. 

Along with Cleveland's increase, Horseshoe Cincinnati increased revenue from $19.1 million to $19.7 million.

Hollywood Columbus dipped nearly a million dollars from $16.8 million in August of $15.7 million in September. Hollywood Toledo dropped nearly $2 million from $15.8 million to $14 million over the same period. 

As for the state's two racinos, Scioto Downs in Columbus saw profits decline from $11.1 million to $10.5 million in September.

Thistledown in Cleveland was flat at $11.8 million both months.
