(Brook Park) The Mayor of Brook Park, Thomas Coyne, says the city is experiencing a $1.5 million deficit, and layoffs of city workers are possible.
The mayor is proposing a property tax increase to fill the city's coffers.
Brook Park has been hit hard by layoffs at both Ford and the NASA Glenn Research Center.
Coyne says it's not known how many workers would be furloughed. He plans to meet with union leaders to find a solution.
Coyne says any layoffs in police and fire ranks would not affect safety.
