(Cleveland) On time and under budget. There was a lot to celebrate on Monday during the topping off ceremony at the new Cuyahoga County Administration Building. The building, located at the corner of East 9th and Prospect Avenue and is expected to open in July. The county headquarters will be the new office for 750 county employees which will lead to the revitalization of it's neighborhood.
County Executive Ed Fitzgerald signs the final beam
The final beam that was hoisted into place on Monday was signed by several of the people who helped make this project become a reality including Cuyahoga County Executive Ed Fitzgerald, Cuyahoga County Council President C. Ellen Connelly, and Fred Geis of Geis Companies. The beam was decorated with a tree to symbolize growth and an American flag.
The administration building is part of Cuyahoga County's property consolidation project which is estimated to provide significant savings to taxpayers. In addition to savings for taxpayers, the property consolidation project has allowed the site of the old Administration Building to be home to the Cleveland Convention Center headquarters hotel. Hilton Worldwide plans to operate the 600-650 room hotel, creating an additional 450-500 new full-time jobs in downtown Cleveland.
