A quake was centered near Ottawa, Ontario. It struck about 9:45am with a 4.4 magnitude.

It was centered northwest of the city and was followed by a 3.6 magnitude aftershock according to Mike Hansen with Ohio Seismic Network.

A number of people felt it across Lake Erie in Ohio. Several people in higher floors of office buildings say the shaking lasted 10 to 15 seconds.

One person described it as like being in a boat rocked by small waves.
